Plant Care
  • Light:
  •  Thrives in full sun and will also tolerate partial shade. For best flowering and strong growth, choose a warm, sunny position
  • Soil:
  • Plant in free-draining soil. If planting in pots, use a good-quality container mix – or a blend of potting mix with added grit/pumice for improved drainage.
  • Watering:
  • Water well when planting. During summer, water twice a week while the plant is establishing. Once established, Strelitzia is naturally drought-tolerant and requires less frequent watering.
  • Feeding :
  • Feed with Novatec slow-release fertiliser every 3 months during the spring and summer. Tip: Lightly dampen the soil before adding fertiliser to help prevent fertiliser burn and ensure even uptake.
  • Pruning :
  • Remove old leaves and spent flowers to maintain a tidy shape.
